Description :
We offer a chance to experience the magic of the Sahara Desert through the eyes of nomads who were born and live in this alluring land.
First Day : Tagounite, Camel ride, Thea with a Tuareg, Bivouac
We will meet and depart from Tagounite or M'Hamid (whichever is most convenient for you) at 9 am. If you would like, you can spend the night (or nights) before (or after) our desert trip at our traditional family home riad. (Please ask for details.) After getting acquainted, we will set out for a thrilling ride across the desert in the 4x4. We will take our first break to ride through the small dunes on the camel caravan. After this we will return to the 4x4 and continue across the stone desert before reaching the next dunes. On our journey we will listen to traditional Moroccan music and talk about the history of this striking land. We will experience varied landscape on our way to meet and have tea with some friends that are still living as nomads in this harsh but alluring land. We will stop along the way to learn about the many plants of the desert that provide natural healing remedies that we still use.today.
We are very pleased to share the knowledge that has been passed down to us by our grandmother who was an early herbalist and healer. At lunch time we will stop and prepare a hearty lunch while you rest under the shade of an acacia tree or explore the area. Please advise us when you make your reservation, if you follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, we can accomodate for this with no problem. We will also see the sacred oasis, watering hole and well where the nomadic people and the animals of the desert gather for water. If we are lucky we will see donkeys and herds of camels or goats gathering here. It is a spectacular sight. When we reach the camp at Erg Chigaga, the largest dunes in the Moroccan Sahara Desert, we will enjoy traditional tea before setting out to explore the vastness of these great dunes and watch the sunset. The evening offers a gourmet tagine dinner and live music before retiring to the comfort of a comfortable and cozy room.

Second day : Fossils mountain
​
In the morning, we will provide a beautiful full breakfast before setting out for our return trip. We will take a different route back so that you can experience other landscapes of this stunning land. This includes a stop at fossils mountain that was once an ocean and is a great place to find ancient fossils.

We will meet and depart from Tagounite or M'Hamid (whichever is most convenient for you) at 9 am. Second day : Camel ride on the dunes

In the morning, we will provide a beautiful full breakfast before setting out for our camel trip. For two hours we will travel among the dunes riding camel like real tuareg. We will then stop in an Oasis for lunch before going back to the camp with the camels. We will spend the evening in the camp enjoying the powerful beauty of these immense dunes and staring at this sky full of stars in an amazingly loud silence.

Third day : Salt lake, fossils mountain, Foum Zgit, Potery Tamegroute
​
On the third day, after a beautiful full breakfast we will be setting out for our return trip. We will take a different route back so that you can experience other landscapes of this stunning land. This includes a stop at fossils mountain that was once an ocean and is a great place to find ancient fossils. Then we will cross by a giant salt lake which was once the biggest lake on the area. From there we will head to the oasis of Foum Zguid and then cross the big town of Zag or we will end our journey by visiting a potery cooperative in Tamegroute making old art moroccan potery.

Description :
During this two day trip you will be able to see a lot of different and marvellous landscapes of the desert. You will feel the power of the immensity of the Altlas mountains and discover Moroccan Art
First Day : Marrakech, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, Potery art

A tuareg guide speacking french, english, spanish, and arabic will be picking you up in Marrakech at 7.30 in a 4x4 with air conditioning. Then you will head toward Ouarzazate crossing the wonderful roads of the Atlas stopping in marvellous area with great panorama for landscapes lovers. You will then visit the Kasbah Ait ben Haddou which is moroccan Ksar inscribed on UNESCO's world heritage. After that, you will get lunch in Ouarzazate and be able to visit the STAR WARS studio implemented there. You will then go further south towards Zagora the desert gate stopping at the Kasbah Tamnogalt. After Zagora you will go into the desert at Tamegroute where you will have the opportunity to see the ancient art of handmade moroccan potery. Then you will spend the night next to Tagounit under a sky full of stars.
